About findalternative.net

What it is
A directory of alternatives. Start from a product you know, see what competes with it, and compare them on the things that actually differ — price, platform, licence, features.
Right now it holds 2,404 published products, organised into 422 categories across software, hardware, gadgets, appliances, hosting and games.
It covers more than software on purpose. “What else is like this?” is just as real a question for a laptop, a blender or a game as it is for a SaaS tool.
How listings are built
Being straightforward about this matters more than making it sound impressive:
- Discovery — products are found from public catalogues and open data sources, and by AI research into each category.
- Verification — every candidate has its URL checked and is de-duplicated against the catalogue before it can enter.
- Enrichment — AI drafts the description, features, pros and cons, then categorises it.
- Review — entries pass a quality gate before publication; anything failing it waits for a human.
- Correction — product owners can claim their listing by proving they control the domain, then fix their own details.
So: AI-assisted, human-supervised, and imperfect.Descriptions can be stale or wrong. Check the product's own site before you buy — and if you spot an error, tell us and it gets fixed for everyone.
How rankings work
Lists are ordered by community votes, popularity and editorial judgement — not by who pays. Sponsored placements exist, and they are always labelled as such.
We earn from affiliate commissions and paid placements. That is set out in full, including what it does not influence, on the advertising & affiliate disclosure page. It is worth reading before you trust any recommendation here — including ours.
How to contribute
- Submit a product that is missing.
- Vote on alternatives so better answers rise to the top.
- Write a review of something you have actually used.
- Own a product? Claim its listing and keep it accurate.
Who runs it
findalternative.net is an independent project, not owned by or funded by any of the companies it lists. Game data comes from IGDB.
